Exactly 135 days following the previous coach's first press conference as Rangers manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the challenge ahead of him is widely recognized, given Martin's chaotic and disappointing 123-day tenure.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the 36-year-old German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

A single message came through loud and clear from the new coach's initial presentation in front of the Scottish media - he understands the need to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

The previous manager Russell Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months as manager, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe Rohl believes is realistic to turn around the struggling team.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that could bring future pressure, Rohl's communication was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he said. "This is essential.
"In football you have not much opportunity. You can discuss future plans but it's understood it concerns the short-term and the short-term is about winning games. That is what I demand.
"Another aspect is also clear - I require all players to comprehend our intended to perform. I come back to my primary message: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this order, I believe that I'll stay very long here."

Expectations are Standard

The previous manager needed security protection to leave the Falkirk Stadium after his last game in charge.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can turn at sports teams when results are poor. Demonstrations have almost become an expected part of game day experience on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the question was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would enable him to handle, never mind thrive, in among the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion pressure in football is normal," he commented. "You must learn that very quickly.
"I think certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm 16 years on this path. I had a great chance to be at Bayern Munich and be only an assistant coach, but I felt what it means to be a head coach and the demands involved.
"You begin winning games and then some critics claim you must produce entertaining soccer. That's the next stage but precisely my intention. I relish that challenge and I'm excited for the future."

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of questions from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with supporters skeptical about his credentials for the position.

However, he justified and clarified the decision to bring Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It remains uncomfortable to hear and optically I believe we all agreed when we made this step to hire him that he would be seen in a particular way," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of the situation is that we aim to bring the very best talent to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and situation is he didn't need my assistance in soccer.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, he then joined Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Before we hiring him, two top division clubs sought to sign him. Our approach from the start of proceedings was discuss with the CEO, Andrew and vice-chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I remained highly transparent and I believe he likely experienced a more rigorous procedure than any other employee by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work 25/8 to be successful for Rangers and I'm looking forward to him proving that he's going to be a valuable employee for the club."

Thelwell also supported the signing of forward Youssef Chermiti, who joined the club for a reported first payment of eight million pounds, after failing to find the net in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portugal youth international to Liverpool from Sporting - once more for large funds in a fifteen million pound transfer.

The question came if he supports his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet score in seven matches for the club.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell responded. "I believe the striker is a player who's possesses great ability.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Similarly, I think the manager will help to maximize the potential out of the player.
"These are initial stages for the young player, he's a promising prospect and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally require patience.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career here he'll demonstrate that he is very, very good footballer."

The CEO Understands Fan Frustration and Anger

Stewart was also facing scrutiny, considering the criticism that has been directed his way by some club own supporters.

Additionally, there was a banner in the stadium during the recent tie with Dundee United inviting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before being removed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not evade the issue.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and hurt that fans are feeling because performances this season haven't been expectations and no one is happy with those," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment they feel is mirrored inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for such issues and my responsibility as a
