19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
